Who knew scanning canvas could bring on hives?!

Who knew scanning canvas could bring on hives?!

After another attempt at capturing, ‘Levity’  a triptych yet to be posted, here are some lessons learned – the hard way,

  1. Never hire equipment and do it yourself, especially when a project really matters.
  2. Always use the same room, and same setup for every image in a series, ensuring consistency!!!
  3. Never lay an anti glare cover-slip over an oil painting to flatten it out, this does not remove defocused spots  but it almost certainly plucks paint from an otherwise bone dry canvas.
  4. The dark arts of opaque projection, are best learnt before a few cans, and after a primer on electronics.
